The 2024 Care Sector Fundraising Ball raised £200,000 for charity, bringing the total raised to almost £1.5 million since the Ball’s inception.
The Ball aims to raise vital funds for chosen charities who provide exceptional care and support. This year’s lead charity beneficiaries were the Care Workers’ Charity and Marie Curie. For the first time, the Ball also supported four smaller charities with donations of £5,000 each.
The Ball is a Championing Social Care programme.
The evening was filled with top quality entertainment, great food and friendship. Showcasing all that’s great about the sector. It was hosted by comedian and actor Ellie Taylor and included a performance by an All Stars group of past finalists from Care Sector’s Got Talent. Marie Curie ambassadors Paul Chuckle and John Altman drew the prize draw and guests danced to live music performed by the band Hotrox.
Loveday was the lead funding partner for the Ball and two members of their team spoke to guests about their journey in care. Izabela Klaczkiewicz, General Manager of Loveday Abbey Road, described her work as. ‘not just a job, but a genuine joy.’
Angela Boxall, chair of the Ball committee said:
“It was an unforgettable evening filled with generosity, celebration, and support for our incredible charities. I would like to personally thank all our generous partners, sponsors and guests. I am delighted that we were able to raise much needed funds for charities that do such great work in our sector.”
Plans are already underway for the 2025 Fundraising Ball which will take place on 27th September.
