Annual celebration raises vital funds for innovative partner
Almost 200 people came together for the Care Sector Christmas Lunch in December. It was an event full of fun and innovation but it was also a chance to support an emerging organisation that works in the care sector.
The beneficiary for the event was Adopt a Grandparent and Championing Social Care is delighted to announce that a total of £23,719 was raised to support their work.
The amount raised will be instrumental in helping it grow its volunteers, develop its technology further, and expand its operations across all four home nations. The Christmas Lunch also provided an occasion for Adopt a Grandparent to highlight its growth, particularly in care home group sign-ups and fundraising efforts since its inception.
The event enabled those in attendance to gain insight into Adopt a Grandparent’s global outreach, showcasing the far-reaching impact of encouraging intergenerational connections and the significance of these relationships in care homes worldwide.
Mandip Bhogal, chair of the Christmas Lunch committee says:
“The Care Sector Christmas Lunch is about celebrating togetherness and the joy of giving – the true Christmas spirit. A huge team effort brought together almost 200 guests for a really fun event. Special thanks are due to our funding partners, Virgin Money, carehome.co.uk, Catalyst Interiors and Dormy Care Communities. I was delighted that we were able to team up with Adopt a Grandparent as our beneficiary and I am thrilled that we are able to give them a record donation from the Lunch that will make a real difference to their work.”
