Barnardo’s, the UK’s leading children’s charity, has been selected as the beneficiary partner for this year’s Care Sector Christmas Lunch. The festive event will take place on Thursday 12th December 2024 at The Dorchester Hotel, London, marking a return to this iconic venue.
The Care Sector Christmas Lunch is one of the core programmes run by Championing Social Care, shining a positive light on the work of the care sector. Chair of Championing Social Care’ Christmas Lunch committee, Mandip Bhogal, expressed his excitement for the partnership with Barnardo’s:
“Barnardo’s commitment to improving the lives of children aligns with the values we hold dear in the care sector. We are thrilled to return to The Dorchester, a venue we haven’t been to in some time, and are looking forward to celebrating with our colleagues and partners during the festive season. This collaboration with Barnardo’s ensures that together, we will make a lasting difference in children’s lives.”
Barnardo’s, which provides critical support to children facing challenges such as poverty, abuse, and mental health issues, expressed their gratitude for being selected as this year’s beneficiary. The charity highlighted the transformative impact of this partnership:
“Barnardo’s are so grateful to be the beneficiary partner for the Care Sector Christmas Lunch. Together we can help children and young people not just survive but thrive—giving them a true sense of safety, happiness, and hope.
“At Barnardo’s, we work with children and young people to be safer, happier, healthier, and more hopeful. We do this because we know that if you can change a childhood, you can change a life. Together we can be champions for childhoods and change lives.”
